NAB Show 2025: Tech That Caught My Eye!

Here are a few of the areas, features, tech that stood out for me at the show.

Companies include: Apple, Ateliere, AWS, Blackmagic Design, Netflix, Sony, Synamedia and Vizrt.

In no particular order.

Vizrt

Vizrt had numerous innovations, and its Virtual Studio workflow was really cool. Using Vizrt Reality Connect and its AI Tracking software, the talent on the green screen could interact with a Virtual Touch Screen, immerse themselves in 3D space to walk around Virtual Objects, and showoff the real-time rending of the Engine. I just had to try it for myself, and it was like having a virtual studio in my pocket (see below).

Separately, I was able to catch up with the company’s Chief Product and technology Officer Steve Taylor for a conversation around the key themes and trends at the event. Check out my state-of-the-art virtual studio; really cool, shame the technology could not make me a bit taller!
