NAB Show 2024: The Tech That Caught My Eye
There were lots of demonstrations, conference sessions, and new solutions to see at NAB 2024. Here are a few things that caught my eye!
With every tech-related show, there is always an immense volume of products and solutions to unpack. Here are some of the companies and products that stood out on the show floor, in line with my previous pieces covering CES 2024 and MWC 2024. In no particular order….
Grass Valley
Prior to the start of the show, Grass Valley held its GVx Council GV Forum. During this event, the Apple Vision Pro made an appearance which was well received and even got a spontaneous ovation (see below).
At the Apple Vison Pro launch event, Apple uniquely positioned it as offering a transformative workflow for content creation, as well as changing the way users can immerse themselves in the experience. Beyond providing new ways of viewer engagement, it was great to see how the device can and will transform live production (see below).
I had a play around with it on the Grass Valley stand and was impressed with its potential for revolutionising workflow and build upon the key theme of live production in the cloud. There are many merits to this solution, especially in the realm of remote workflows and for including those that are home-based. But it will take some time to roll out and people will need to be comfortable using these devices for an extended period.
